ESV Fuzz
The ESV Fuzz by BYOC is available in both Germanium and Silicon versions. The Germanium version uses PNP Germanium transistors and has a positive ground. It features vintage mojo similar to the original Fuzz Face, with modern conveniences such as an LED status light, DC adapter jack, adjustable bias, and true bypass. The kit includes carbon comp resistors, Vishay axial lead capacitors, and an adjustable internal bias for a vintage fuzz sound. The Germanium version can be powered by a normal standard 9VDC power supply intended for use with guitar effects, but it cannot be daisy-chained with other pedals unless they also have a positive ground. The Silicon version of the ESV Fuzz kit has similar vintage mojo to the original Fuzz Face, with the added modern conveniences of an LED status light, DC adapter jack, and true bypass. It features extra beefy traces and solder pads for better continuity, easier soldering, and more abuse. The kit includes resistors, trimpot, capacitors, transistors, potentiometers, hardware, and hook-up wire.
Overdrive and Boost
Crown Jewel
The Crown Jewel by BYOC is an innovative drive and boost combo pedal, offering a wide range of overdrive and distortion tones. It features a parametric midrange, a 3-way Mid Q switch, and a 3-band equalizer for versatile voicing of the drive channel. The pedal includes hard and soft clipping switches, providing a selection of 9 different textures of distortion, including hard Ge (Germanium) clipping, hard Si (Silicon) clipping, soft Si clipping, soft LED clipping, or no clipping at all. The internal charge pump provides 18 volts to the drive channel circuit while still using a standard 9VDC negative tip power supply. The 18V/9V switch allows users to decide how much voltage is supplied to the drive channel, offering more headroom or traditional overdrive and distortion characteristics. The boost channel is independent from the drive channel and is modular, with various boost modules to choose from. The boost footswitch can be used independently of the drive channel, and the first/last switch allows users to place the boost channel before or after the drive channel. The pedal also features soft touch, clickless, pop-free, true-bypass, relay switching for both the drive and boost channels. Additionally, the Crown Jewel comes with a choice of enclosure finish (plain or painted) and module selection, allowing users to customize their pedal according to their preferences.
