Distortion

Hurts

The Hurts by Latent Lemon is a hand-built effects pedal designed with the infamous Harmonic Percolator circuit tuned for maximum tone. It is capable of producing a range of sounds, from filthy sub-octave and wilful feedback to just a hint of grit, or an amp slamming transistor booster. The pedal uses both germanium and silicon transistors, carefully selected and graded for sound and gain. It incorporates 1N695 germanium diodes, with a switch to change to silicon diodes, and a mid-position switch to bypass the diodes, transforming it into a loud transistor booster that pushes the front end of an amp. The controls on the Hurts pedal include Harmonics for fuzz/distortion gain, Sputter for transistor bias, Balance for output volume, a Deep switch that allows more low frequencies into the circuit and adjusts the circuit to help prevent oscillation, and a Diode switch for selecting between germanium diodes, silicon diodes, or bypassing the diodes. Additionally, it features internal trimmers for adjusting the octave "sweet spot" and gain compensation. Technical Specifications: \- Power: Standard 9V DC, 2.1mm center negative \- Enclosure Size: 120 x 94 x 42 mm \- Current Draw: 33mA \- Battery: Not supported \- Top-quality components: Alpha/E Switch footswitch, Lumberg power socket, Neutrik jack sockets, Hammond enclosure, Latent Lemon designed circuit boards \- Hand-built in Hastings, England The Hurts pedal is designed to cater to a wide range of musical styles and is particularly suitable for bass and doom genres. It has been positively reviewed by musicians and has been used by bands such as Pigs x7 and Placebo.
