The Octron2 by Foxrox Electronics was introduced in February 2007. Its dimensions are 5.5" in width, 5" in depth, and 2.85" in height, with a weight of 2 lbs. 2 oz. The pedal operates at 9 Volts DC or higher (via 9V battery or external power) and has a current draw of 20mA with all LEDs on. The power connection is 2.1mm, Center = NEG (FX standard), and it features true bypass with LED for signal switching. The unit can be run at higher voltage for increased headroom, up to 30 Volts DC, which is particularly useful when using the Octron2 with a bass guitar. The Octron2 is a limited-production version of the original Octron pedal, offering individual footswitches with LED for Octave up, Direct, and Octave down. It is designed to provide a super-organic sounding, high-quality analog Octave pedal. The pedal also includes an effects loop located after the effect, but before the foot switch, allowing for additional versatility in sound manipulation. The pedal can be used as a loop switcher, enabling the activation of lead pedals for solos even when octave sounds are not desired. Additionally, the Octron2 allows users to select any combination of the three signals (Oct Up, Direct, Oct Down), providing a wide range of tonal possibilities.
The Octron3 by Foxrox Electronics is an analog octave effect pedal that produces a note one octave above and a note one octave below the note you play. It features a variable mix of octave up, clean, and octave down signals. The pedal has a compact design and includes two additional switches that provide front-panel control of tone for both upper and lower octaves. The octave up circuit uses a pair of germanium diodes to achieve the octave doubling effect, with the option to select a bright and clear output or a more pure octave-up sound with less treble and fewer harmonics. The octave down circuit is an octave divider that tracks your dynamics and offers switchable tone options for a woody midrange punch or a deep, fat bass tone. The pedal can be powered by a 9-18V DC power supply or a 9V battery, with higher voltage providing increased headroom, particularly useful when using the pedal with a bass guitar. The Octron3 is designed to respond to your playing style and technique, delivering an organic analog effect that can be further enhanced when combined with other effects.
