The Octron2 by Foxrox Electronics was introduced in February 2007. Its dimensions are 5.5" in width, 5" in depth, and 2.85" in height, with a weight of 2 lbs. 2 oz. The pedal operates at 9 Volts DC or higher (via 9V battery or external power) and has a current draw of 20mA with all LEDs on. The power connection is 2.1mm, Center = NEG (FX standard), and it features true bypass with LED for signal switching. The unit can be run at higher voltage for increased headroom, up to 30 Volts DC, which is particularly useful when using the Octron2 with a bass guitar.
The Octron2 is a limited-production version of the original Octron pedal, offering individual footswitches with LED for Octave up, Direct, and Octave down. It is designed to provide a super-organic sounding, high-quality analog Octave pedal. The pedal also includes an effects loop located after the effect, but before the foot switch, allowing for additional versatility in sound manipulation.
The pedal can be used as a loop switcher, enabling the activation of lead pedals for solos even when octave sounds are not desired. Additionally, the Octron2 allows users to select any combination of the three signals (Oct Up, Direct, Oct Down), providing a wide range of tonal possibilities.
