The Crazy Tube Circuits Falcon Overdrive pedal is designed to emulate the sounds of a '55 Tweed Deluxe and a '61 Brownface Princeton. It meticulously replicates the behavior, sound, and feel of the preamp, phase inverter, and power amp of both these designs. The pedal utilizes JFET technology to recreate both overdriven and lower gain/clean sounds. It also emulates the compression and sag coming out of the power amp and tube rectifier, enhancing the pedal’s dynamic, musical feel and making it very responsive to picking attack.
Key specifications include:
- Output, Tone, and Volume Control
- '55 / '61 Voice Switch
- Power: 9V DC (Adapter Not Included)
- Does Not Accept Batteries
The Falcon Overdrive features a toggle switch to morph between Tweed and Brownface sounds. The Brownface mode has less gain for cleanish or slightly overdriven brownface sounds, while the Tweed mode has more gain, greater low- end response, and higher sag/compression. The pedal also offers true bypass functionality and has a current draw of 40mA.
