The Monastery

The Monastery by Hungry Robot is a Dual Preset, Polyphonic Octave Generator designed to provide simultaneous octave up and octave down with minimal latency and excellent tracking anywhere on the neck, even with multiple notes. Inspired by the rich, multi-layered timbre of vintage organs, it offers highly intuitive controls, deviating from the standard three-knob "Dry, Up, Down" controls used in many octave pedals. Instead, it features a more intelligent crossfade/pan arrangement, ensuring the volume remains at unity-gain regardless of knob settings.

The Monastery's control layout includes Dry/Wet Knobs (Top and Bottom) for crossfading between dry and octave signal, +/- Knobs (Top and Bottom) for crossfading between octave up and octave down, and left and right footswitches for turning the pedal on/off and toggling between top and bottom channels, respectively.

The pedal is designed to produce lush, organ-like tones at full-tilt but can cover a range of sounds thanks to its two-octave control layout. It is suitable for musicians seeking to add rich, layered octave effects to their sound.
