It is a gain-staged preamp with Germanium diodes, providing a gradual onset of overdrive that can be easily controlled with the swell pedal. The pedal adds compression and 2nd order harmonics, delivering a fat, tubelike overdrive for a wide range of organ sounds, from Greg Rollie to Jon Lord, Uriah Heep, and Canterbury sounds.
