The British by Tech 21 is a part of the SansAmp Character Series, designed to simulate the classic crunch of iconic British amps. The pedal is capable of delivering the tough Bluesbreaker overdrive, the throaty roar of a Plexi, or the ballsy smack-down of a ‘70s Metalface, providing a wide array of tonal possibilities. The Level and Drive controls function like a traditional, well- equipped amp, while the Low, Mid, and High controls are active, offering a broader range of tonal options. The Character knob is a unique feature, allowing seamless movement between different model voicings, covering vintage, high-gain, and face-melting lead tones.

The British by Tech 21 is operable with a 9V alkaline battery (not included) and an optional DC power supply, Tech 21 model #DC9, is available. The pedal also features a MID control custom-tuned to ±12dB @ 500 Hz and built-in speaker simulation tuned to match English Greenback-style speakers.

The pedal is engineered to personify the specific amplifier traits and speakers associated with each amplifier type, encapsulating the entire lineage of each amp style into a compact unit. The British by Tech 21 is suitable for a variety of use-cases, from delivering searing blues to UK anarchy, to providing authentic-sounding, tough tones from Bluesbreaker to Plexi to '70s stack.
