The Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie Hella Fuzz, specifically designed for bassists, features a FET buffered active clean-boost, new FET-hybrid clipping sections, an altered tone-stack range geared specifically for bass, and an altered saturation control to make it highly usable at lower gain settings. The pedal also incorporates various cap and resistor changes within the circuit to better accommodate bass guitarists. It is designed to eliminate "drop out" when the fuzz is engaged during live performances, providing a feel of running two amps, one wet and one dry. The pedal offers a wide range of usable tones from the "shape" knob and has a less pronounced mid-scoop to retain presence in a live playing situation. The altered saturation (fuzz) knob allows for crisp, tight lows at high fuzz settings and a dirty, gritty, slightly over- driven clean-blended bass sound at lower gain settings. The pedal is powered by a 9 Volt DC power supply and features 1/4" input and output jacks. The construction includes genuine Davies "Daka-ware" knobs, industry standard Alpha pots, lock-washers on pots and jacks, a 3PDT switch for "true" bypass, enclosed jacks, and insulated 2.1mm 9V jack with fiberboard mounted connections. The sturdy enclosures are powder-coated and hand-screened in the USA, and the pedal is shipped with a new battery.
