The Black Arts Toneworks Quantum Mystic is an opamp-based distortion/overdrive pedal featuring a 3-band active EQ and germanium clipping. It draws inspiration from the old Grey Distortion, with the circuit adapted and upgraded in collaboration with Mike Scheidt from the band Yob. The pedal allows users to cut frequencies to achieve old-school sounds or boost the final gain stage for heavily saturated and distorted tones. Additionally, users can dial back the distortion, boost the volume, and use the active EQ to achieve sparkling clear boost tones. The pedal operates on a standard 9VDC power supply and does not have a battery connection. The Quantum Mystic is priced at $189 and features captivating artwork by Arik Roper.
