The Crowther Audio Hot Cake is a boost/overdrive pedal designed to maintain the undistorted component of the guitar sound while providing a rich distortion without affecting the guitar's tonality. It features a Level, Drive, and Bass control knobs, along with an XLF (Extended Low Frequency) switch and a +Cream switch. The XLF switch is designed for extended low- frequency response, particularly for bass, while the +Cream switch offers a smoother overdrive sound with slightly less headroom and increased sustain. The pedal does not include a battery and is hand-made in New Zealand. The Hot Cake V2 is known for its transparency and ability to preserve the natural tone of the guitar while providing a thick distortion tone when cranked.
