Model feT Guitar Pedal By Electronic Audio Experiments

Model feT

Description

The Electronic Audio Experiments Model feT is a transistor-based preamplifier designed to accurately replicate the legendary Sunn Model T amplifier in a compact format. Here are some technical specifications and features:

Electrical Specifications:
- Bypass: Relay switching with true bypass
- Input impedance @ 1 kHz: 500kΩ
- Output impedance @ 1 kHz: 1kΩ
- Power: 9V DC, 2.1 mm center negative barrel. The current draw is 65 mA.

Controls:
- Normal: Adds gain from the parallel "Normal" channel, which has a neutral voicing. Higher settings produce a thicker gain sound.
- Brite: Adds gain from the parallel "Brite" channel, which is voiced for extra midrange and sparkle. Adds bite to the drive tone at higher settings.
- Bass, Midrange, Treble: 3-band FMV EQ with moderately mid-scooped voicing, highly interactive and nonlinear.
- Master: Sets overall output volume capable of high volumes to access quieter clean settings and drive an external power amp.

Additional Features:
- The pedal can be used directly into a power amp, cab simulation, or DAW.
- Soft-touch relay bypass switching with true bypass.
- The pedal does not accept batteries and requires a regulated, isolated power supply rated for 100 mA minimum.

The Model feT is designed to excel at heavy tones when pushed, but it is also a fantastic mid-gain amplifier with a dark yet clear and present tone, making it an exceptional pedal platform. It goes beyond the standard triode-to-JFET emulation approach with the inclusion of an emulated power amp, broadening the range of gain and allowing for massive headroom and volume output.
