The Little Brute Drive 2 (LBD2) by EWS is a compact distortion pedal that follows the tone design of British stack amps. It offers intense distortion, similar to its predecessor, the Brute Drive, in a small body that takes up minimal space on a pedal board. The pedal features a tone control function as a high cut filter, a volume control, and a mid switch that controls the strength of the mid-range. The mid switch offers three stages of midrange control.
The LBD2 can be used with a built-in 9V battery or an external power supply. It includes a step-up type DC-DC converter that allows for boosting the current to 16V, expanding headroom and dynamic range while reducing the compression feeling. The pedal's power consumption is 9VDC/7.3mA or 16VDC/15.3mA. It is recommended to use the pedal with an external power supply when operating at 16V due to increased current consumption.
