The Sandwich by Frantone is an optical compressor pedal featuring a 12:1 compression ratio. It is designed with a new optocoupler developed and manufactured by Frantone in the USA, which controls an active attenuator circuit for ultra-linear response and maximum sensitivity. The pedal offers a range of settings, from subtle limiting for a refreshing crisp tone to deep- fried five-alarm sustain. It features a Threshold control to adjust the audible floor, allowing for the elimination of background noise or the enhancement of nuanced playing. The Sandwich is suitable for both bass and guitar and is housed in a tough cast aluminum case with a lime green enamel finish. Other features include true bypass switching, green indicator LED, red performance LED, steel LED bezel, Switchcraft jacks, red knobs, hard-mounted PCB, external power jack, and clear feet. The construction quality is described as very nice, and it runs on standard 9V DC power.
