The Brutalist Jr. by GodCity Instruments is a distortion pedal loosely based on the Providence Stampede SDT-1, designed by Nick Williams of Dunwich Amps. It is a high-powered distortion pedal with controls for volume, loudness (a high and low boost chained into one control), and gain (distortion). The pedal runs on 9V DC power or a 9V battery. The components have been carefully chosen to provide a powerful distorted sound when placed in front of a semi-clean tube amp. The pedal is suitable for builders of all experience levels who desire a heavy distortion pedal with unique tone control.
The kit includes a 125BB size enclosure that needs to be drilled per instructions on the attached drill template PDF. The kit also includes a PCB, and builders are required to source the components and build the pedal themselves. The build guide and parts kits can be found on the manufacturer's website.
The pedal offers the potential for various modifications, including adjusting clipping diodes, increasing maximum distortion, replacing op-amps, global treble adjustment, loudness treble adjustment, loudness bass adjustment, high pass filtering, and response mod.
