BiX Acoustic Preamp

The Grace Design BiX Acoustic Preamp is a floor-mounted preamp designed for use with acoustic instruments. It shares many audio-performance benchmarks with its larger siblings, the FELiX and the AliX, while featuring a streamlined layout of controls. The preamp includes four knobs for setting gain, shaping the EQ of the instrument, and adjusting the level for boosting the signal. It also features footswitches for instantiating the boost (up to 10 dB of gain) and muting the BiX.

The rear panel of the unit features a 1/4" input, two additional 1/4" jacks for patching in an effects loop, an unbalanced 1/4" output, and a transformer- balanced XLR DI output for use with mixers, PAs, or recording devices. The preamp operates on 9VDC and is designed to fit into a pedalboard with ease.

Sonically, the BiX offers crystal clear, ultra-quiet audio performance with a better than 30VDC internal operating voltage, providing incredible headroom. The highs are smooth and open, and the lows are deep and rock solid, enhancing the dynamics and tone of the instrument with clarity and realism.
