The Excess by Old Blood Noise Endeavors is a versatile pedal that combines distortion, delay, and chorus effects. It features individual level controls for both the distortion and modulation sides of the pedal. Additionally, it includes a second footswitch that allows users to choose between the chorus and delay modulations on the fly. The pedal also offers a series/parallel switch for routing the signal path. In series mode, the distortion drives the modulation side, and the level controls stack for a more pushing tone. In parallel mode, the two halves are summed together for a clearer modulation sound and more subtle distortion.
The controls on the Excess pedal include:
- Gain, Tone, and Dist Vol controls for distortion
- Time, Depth, and Mod Vol controls for modulation
- Toggle for modulation mode (Delay, Chorus, or Fifth)
- Toggle to set effect order (Distortion into Modulation, Modulation into
Distortion, or both effects in parallel)
- Expression jack to externally control Rate, Depth, or both
- Soft-touch bypass footswitches for true bypass and minimal switch noise
The Excess pedal requires a 9V DC center negative 2.1mm jack power supply capable of 125mA (not included).
For more detailed information, the Excess manual is available on the manufacturer's website.
