The Tri Loop by One Control is a signal converter designed to convert a multivariable digital HART signal into three independent 4-20 mA analog process variables. It is an accessory product for use with the Rosemount 3051S MultiVariable™, 3051S Advanced HART® Diagnostics, and 3144P products. The Tri Loop allows for various outputs, including differential, absolute, or gage pressure, process temperature, mass or volumetric flow, energy flow, totalized flow, sensor module temperature, scaled variable, standard deviation, and mean.
The device is easy to configure and maintain using a Field Communicator, and installation is quick and easy with three DIN rail mount options. It is available as either a high-alarm or low-alarm device, with factory-configured alarm channels. The Tri Loop is designed to accept 24-12 AWG solid or stranded wire and has dimensions of 1.57 x 3.11 x 3.36 inches (40 x 79 x 85.5 mm). It can be mounted on asymmetrical 32mm G rail, symmetrical 35 x 7.5 mm top hat rail, or symmetrical 35 x 15 mm top hat rail.
The device operates on a terminal voltage of 11–42.4 Vdc, and each channel operates on this voltage. The maximum loop resistance is determined by the voltage level of the external power supply. The device has a reference accuracy of ±0.045% of span, ambient temperature effect of ±0.15% of span per 50 °F (28 °C), and stability of ±0.15% of span for 12 months. The analog output responds to every HART burst update, with a typical transmitter burst update rate of 0.3 to 0.5 seconds.
The Tri Loop meets all basic environment requirements of EN61326 and has physical specifications including screw clamps that accept 24–12 AWG solid or stranded wire. The device weighs 0.27 lb (0.12 kg) and is labeled with a serial number, part number, and factory configuration.
