The Saturn V Harmonic Booster by Spaceman Effects is a tone enhancer, harmonic-laden boost, and low-gain overdrive pedal. It features a simple two- knob control layout for Boost and Drive. The Boost control alone can deliver 18db of boost with added sparkle, while adjusting the Drive control adds more harmonic distortion and increases the total output level of the pedal. When both controls are maxed, it yields 35db of boost with complex harmonic character.
The pedal offers an openness to the top end of the frequency spectrum and keeps bass frequencies present, tight, and controlled. The harmonic distortion is extremely dynamic, responding to playing dynamics. The drive texture is a mix of odd and even harmonics, with the Boost side focused on even-order harmonics and the Drive side adding odd-order harmonics to the mix.
The Saturn V is hand-soldered and handmade in Portland, Oregon, utilizing true-bypass switching via a heavy-duty mechanical footswitch and open-frame jacks. It features an unparalleled display of craftsmanship, including a hand- soldered PCB, military-spec wiring, and custom heavy-duty battery connector. The pedal is housed in a USA cast-aluminum enclosure with a durable, engraved vinyl faceplate and red jewel indicator light, built to last a lifetime.
