The Titan II Fuzz Machine by Spaceman Effects is a unique discrete circuit utilizing silicon transistors. Despite having only three control parameters, it offers a wide array of distinct tones within its cast aluminum shell. The pedal is named after the NASA rocket that launched the Gemini manned space missions, reflecting its ability to elevate tone into the stratosphere.
The Titan II delivers splatty, nasty fuzz tones at full gain, while the wide- range Gain control also provides great low-gain tones that crossover into overdrive territory. Additionally, it offers fuzz-tinged distortion tones. The pedal cleans up effectively with the instrument's volume, adding further levels of fuzz textures and expression. The Tone control provides a complex tonal shift, allowing the Titan II to cover an extensive range of tone and texture.
This pedal is suitable for use with standard, bass, and baritone guitars, as well as most other instruments. It is completely hand-soldered and handmade in Portland, Oregon, ensuring the highest degree of quality. The Titan II utilizes true-bypass switching via a heavy-duty mechanical footswitch and features quality open-frame Switchcraft jacks. The pedal's construction includes immaculate hand-soldered PCB, detailed military-spec wiring, and a custom Spaceman heavy-duty battery connector. Its cast aluminum enclosure is topped with a durable, engraved vinyl faceplate and a vintage dimmable indicator light, ensuring longevity.
The Titan II has a current draw of 3.6mA (on) and 0.7mA (off). It is available in limited edition colorways, such as chrome, and is built to last a lifetime.
