The Descent by Walrus Audio is a versatile reverb pedal designed to create ambient textures of sound. It offers three modes: hall, reverse, and shimmer. In each mode, the user has the ability to feed +1 and -1 octaves into the reverberated signal. The Hall mode features a classic reverb sound that can range from a small-room-echo to a haunting long hall-echo. The Reverse mode smoothly flips the signal to playback unique responses and can be manipulated with pre-delay time controls. The Shimmer mode highlights the octave features, dry signal, -1, and +1 to mix in the signal and creates a symphony of sound.
The pedal provides eight controls to precisely hone in on the perfect reverb, and it also supports the use of an auxiliary momentary switch in the fav input to switch the pedal on/off and/or save presets. Additionally, the expression pedal control works with most on-the-shelf expression pedals, allowing the user to set the high and low parameters of each control and fade in and out those controls by moving the foot up or down on the expression pedal.
The dimensions of the Descent pedal are 5 5/8″ x 4 5/8″ x 1 9/16″, and it is recommended to use an isolated power supply for powering all Walrus Audio Pedals. Daisy chain power supplies are not recommended.
The Descent pedal is priced at $299.99 and is designed to cater to musicians seeking to create lush and expansive reverb effects for a wide range of musical styles and applications.
