The Alien Comp by Analog Alien features the same compressor circuit found in the Joe Walsh Double Classic pedal. Unlike most stomp box compressors, the Alien Comp has a natural and musical sound, similar to high-end rack-mounted compressors found in professional studios. The Ratio setting is adjustable from 2:1 to 10:1, allowing for moderate to heavy compression. Additionally, the Alien Comp can be used as a very effective clean boost, capable of boosting the amp from subtle to full overdrive with just a few turns of the control knobs.
To use the Compressor as a clean boost, start by setting the Sensitivity control to about 3:00 o’clock and back the Ratio control off by setting it to the 10:00 o’clock position. Then, set the output control to achieve the desired amount of clean boost to the amp. The Alien Comp can be powered by using a 9v+ battery or an external power supply.
The Alien Comp is priced at $199.00 and is available for both USA and international orders.
