Acoustic Xciter

The Aphex Acoustic Xciter is a pedal designed to enhance acoustic instruments' sound. It features high impedance (10MΩ) for use with passive piezo pickup systems and a lower impedance for active electronics. The pedal incorporates the renowned Aural Exciter and Big Bottom technologies, providing high- frequency enhancement based on harmonic generation and dynamic 'optical' Big Bottom circuitry. The Aural Exciter part of the circuit includes a Hi Tune filter control and a Hi Blend control to regulate the amount of harmonics added back in. The Big Bottom process is a form of dynamic equalizer based around an optical limiter circuit and phase shift. The pedal can be powered by a 9V battery or an external power adaptor and offers balanced XLR and unbalanced jack outputs. Additionally, it includes a DI output with a switch to configure it with or without the effected signal added. The pedal is designed to provide tonal adjustment beyond what can be achieved using EQ and offers proper balanced DI capabilities.
