Description

The BOSS OS-2 OverDrive/Distortion pedal is a flexible distortion pedal capable of producing blended overdrive/distortion sounds. It provides both "over-the-top" distortion sounds and less extreme overdrive tones for rhythm playing. The pedal includes Level, Tone, Drive, and Color controls for precise tonal shaping. It is a sturdy metal pedal with a weight of 0.4 kg and dimensions of 5.9 cm (height), 7.3 cm (width), and 12.9 cm (depth). The body houses knobs, two side jacks, and a 9V battery. The OS-2 has a footswitch to turn the pedal on and off, and a 9V battery powers the circuit. It has four control knobs to control the type and range of amplification desired. The level knob provides high levels of distortion and overdrive, the tone knob controls the degree of brightness of the tone effect, the drive knob provides a thick metal crush to the sound when increased, and the color knob helps switch between distortion and overdrive. The pedal allows users to combine both distortion and overdrive to create a unique sound while maintaining the subtle nuances of a single-coil pickup. The OS-2 is suitable for beginners, intermediate players, and professionals, producing high-level metallic effects and is commonly used for hard rock.
