The Protein Dual Overdrive - Black by Browne Amplification is a 2-in-1 overdrive pedal with the following technical specifications:
- Bypass: True bypass
- Power consumption: 9V DC center negative (power supply sold separately), 50
mA
- Dimensions: 4.9 cm (including knobs) in height, 11.8 cm in width, 9.3 cm in
depth
- Weight: 391 g
The pedal features two channels: the Blue Side, based on the classic OD used by artists like John Mayer, and the Green Side, inspired by the classic "Nashville" overdrive. The Protein also has a secret third channel that provides added gain and fullness when running the green side into the blue side of the pedal, without sacrificing note clarity.
The design allows each channel to be run separately or used together, and it can be run in a loop switcher so that each channel has its own loop (2 x Y-cable needed, optional). The pedal is handbuilt in Kansas City, USA.
