The DigiTech RP1000 is an integrated-effects switching system designed for guitarists. It features controllable amp and stompbox loops for external gear, allowing users to defeat internal amps with the touch of a single button. The unit offers over 160 amps, cabinets, stompboxes, and effects, along with 14 heavy-duty metal switches and a built-in expression pedal. The RP1000 also includes a phrase looper with 20 seconds of record time and controls for stop, play, and overdub. The device is built with a cast metal chassis and features a large 10-character LED display for easy stage use. Additionally, it has a 24-bit 44.1kHz sample rate and a voltage of 9 volts.

The amp tones and modeling ability of the RP1000 are notable, offering a wide range of options for guitarists. The unit's amp models are responsive and offer a variety of tones, including American and British-style amps. The effects included in the RP1000 are generally of high quality, with the exception of the harmonizer, which may not meet some users' expectations.

The RP1000's switching system is well-designed, featuring the 4CM method for integrating the unit into existing setups. The stomp loop capability allows for seamless integration of external stompboxes, and the patch changes are quick, with instant stompbox on/off control.

In terms of ease of use, the RP1000 is considered user-friendly, with a layout that allows for easy tweaking and modification of effects in a live situation. The device also comes with X-edit software for additional control and customization.

Overall, the DigiTech RP1000 is praised for its amp modeling, effects quality, and ease of use, making it a highly recommended choice for guitarists seeking a versatile and powerful integrated-effects switching system.
