The Zoom 505 is a compact multi-effects system designed for guitarists. It features 24 individual built-in effects, allowing for up to 9 effects to be used simultaneously in any combination. The unit has a memory capacity for up to 24 user-programmable patches, providing maximum flexibility for customization. The integrated auto-chromatic guitar tuner enables simple and precise tuning anywhere.

The 505 is equipped with the new DSP (digital signal processor) ZFx-2 developed by Zoom, which produces high-quality effects from a compact package. It also supports the optional foot controller FP01 for pedal wah or pedal pitch, and volume control, as well as the optional foot switch FS01 for bank switching, enhancing playability.

The unit operates on a dual power supply principle, allowing it to be powered from an alkaline battery or an AC adapter. The power consumption of the unit is 9V DC, 300 mA when using an AC adapter. The 505 is designed with safety precautions in mind, including recommendations for power sources, battery usage, and environmental conditions.
