The Hizumitas by EarthQuaker Devices is a faithful sonic recreation of Wata from Boris’ go-to fuzz pedal, the Elk BM Sustainar. It delivers heavy saturation with a gritty edge and a massive bottom while maintaining a clear and dynamic tone with enough mids and top end to cut through the sludge.

- The Elk Sustainar is a Japanese variant of the more well-known “Triangle” BMP.
- The Hizumitas has loads of heavy distortion and smooth sustain with an underlying grit.
- The Sustain control has a wide range of saturation, with excellent response to different pickup types and playing dynamics.
- The Tone control can drastically change the distortion’s character in conjunction with the Sustain setting.
