Empress

Description

The Heavy by Empress is a versatile distortion pedal offering three modes: Lite(ish), Heavy, and Heavier, catering to a wide range of high-gain tones from classic hard rock to modern metal. It features a footswitchable noise gate, a three-band EQ with sweepable mid frequency, and a weight control to sculpt low-frequency response. The pedal also offers linked or independent switching of the distortion and gate, as well as a gate key input for triggering the gate with an external signal. The Heavy Menace provides both true bypass for maximum transparency and buffered bypass to protect against signal loss over long cable runs. The specifications include an input impedance of 1MΩ, output impedance of 100Ω, frequency response (-3dB) of 35Hz

  • 17kHz, and an input voltage of 9VDC Centre-Negative, requiring 250mA of current. The pedal's dimensions are 4.8" in length, 2.6" in width, and 1.5" in height (enclosure only), with a weight of 1lb.
