The JHS Andy Timmons Drive (AT+) is a signature overdrive pedal designed in collaboration with guitarist Andy Timmons. It is known for delivering Andy's unmistakable lead and rhythm tones. The pedal features a drive channel that is identical to the original AT pedal, with controls including Volume, EQ, Drive, Air, and a three-way toggle for 25-watt, 50-watt, or 100-watt modes. The Volume control provides ample headroom, while the Drive control offers a wide range from high gain blues to thunderous distortion. The EQ and Air controls allow for tone shaping and articulation, and the three-way toggle simulates different amplifier wattages.
The AT+ also includes an independent foot-switchable Boost, essentially creating a second channel and gain stage for the pedal. The Boost side provides a slightly dirty and overdriven pre-boost, allowing for more saturation and definition. The pedal requires standard 9V DC center negative power, consumes 15mA, and measures 2.2" x 4.8" x 1.6". It can be safely run at 18 or 9 volts.
The version history includes V1 with a diamond-shaped knob layout and a single footswitch, and V2 with a "AT+" U-shaped knob layout, two foot switches, and limited edition AT+ pedals also available in a Sweetwater exclusive black enclosure.
The JHS Andy Timmons Drive is designed to provide unparalleled amp-like feel, with a wide range of volume and drive sweep for tonal variation. It is suitable for applications where a guitarist needs soaring overdrive and distortion with options to craft their tone.
