The Clover

The Clover by JHS is a versatile preamp/boost pedal designed for electric, acoustic, and bass players. It is a faithful interpretation of the FA-1 FET Preamp with additional features. The pedal features four standard controls and a rotary switch on the top. The Volume control allows users to set their volume at unity or as a boost to push their amp or dirt pedals. The three EQ controls provide extensive control to cut or boost Bass, Mids, and Treble. The rotary switch offers three settings: Full EQ, No Mid, and No EQ, allowing for various tonal shaping options.

The Clover also includes an XLR output for use as an acoustic or bass preamp, which can be used individually or simultaneously with the 1/4” output. The XLR output is designed to give players a great amount of control over their sound, with a ground lift feature to address potential hum issues. The pedal has up to +24dB of gain (X16.4) with EQ Flat, and specific EQ settings include Treble (+/- 15dB shelving filter at 10kHz), Middle (+/- 15dB peaking filter at 1.3kHz), and Bass (+/- 15dB shelving filter at 270Hz). Additionally, the pedal features a Low Cut engaged at -3dB point at 212Hz.
