The Mad Professor Sky Blue Overdrive (SBOD) is a unique four-knob pedal designed to overdrive already distorted amplifiers as well as provide light overdrive or soft distortion on clean sounds. It features adjustable input impedance and compression level, allowing for iron-fisted control over the feel and dynamics of the distortion attack. The pedal includes a Texture knob, which allows for changing how and when the circuit distorts as well as adjusting the overall EQ. The Z knob creates an adjustable load to the instrument connected to the SBOD input, affecting the upper resonant peak of the pickups and the taper of the volume control on the guitar. This adjustment influences how the tone cleans up when using the guitar volume knob.
The electrical specifications of the Mad Professor Sky Blue Overdrive are as
follows:
- Supply voltage range: 7.5 to 18VDC
- Current consumption at 9VDC: 5 mA
- Input impedance: 227K to 10kOhm's (adjustable with the Z knob)
The pedal is hand-made and hand-wired in Finland using only top-quality components, ensuring years of trouble-free operation with superb musical tone.
