The ProStage Remote WahWah is a versatile MIDI-controllable, analog rack Wah Wah pedal designed with a fully analog signal path. It features an original Fasel coil and uses a VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) instead of a potentiometer, allowing remote control via MIDI. The WahWah effect is a filter, with its frequency shifted by moving the pedal. The device can store up to 128 presets, which can be recalled by MIDI Program Change commands. It can also be used as a volume pedal, level, contour, and treble booster.
The Remote WahWah can be controlled using any standard MIDI foot controller with an expression pedal, sending "Control Change No. 7" (Volume). It features a True Bypass mode, allowing the signal to pass directly from the input jack to the output jack without affecting the signal. The device can be configured using the Prostage System Manager software, which allows for adjusting parameters, creating presets, and storing settings on the local hard disk.
The parameters of the Remote WahWah include global parameters such as MIDI channel selection and MIDI Out/Thru configuration, as well as preset-related parameters like Bypass/On, Auto Enable, WahWah/Volume (VCA) operation mode, curve selection, and output gain adjustment. The WahWah-specific parameters include Auto Wah function, input gain, Q-factor, coil damping, and frequency control.
The device is powered by a 9V~AC (alternating current) power supply and should not be operated with direct current (DC) or higher voltages, as this can cause damage. The Remote WahWah is covered by a 2-year warranty and should only be opened by qualified technical personnel. It should not be operated in damp or wet environments, and precautions should be taken during transportation to avoid damage due to temperature variations.
