The Strymon El Capistan V2 dTape Echo is a digital tape delay pedal designed to provide a wide range of classic delay effects. It features powerful tape echo emulation, offering three different tape machine types, each with three unique modes, and ten parameters for extensive control over tape quality, machine health, and tone shaping. The pedal includes a dedicated Spring knob for controlling the level of the Spring Reverb, stereo inputs and outputs, and an upgraded ARM processor with significant MIDI capabilities.

The pedal offers a Sound on Sound mode with instant tape splice and bulk erase functions, simulating a built-in tape-style looper. It is DSP-driven, providing a range of tape experiences without the maintenance and repair associated with traditional tape machines. The El Capistan V2 dTape Echo also supports full MIDI control, including MIDI clock sync and access to 300 presets via MIDI. It features USB-C connection for MIDI-over-USB and firmware updates, enabling bi-directional MIDI communication with Strymon’s Conduit interface.
