Description

The Proteus by Subdecay is a versatile pedal designed to deliver envelope and sample/hold filter effects in a compact unit. It features an all-analog signal path with digital control for tap tempo and switching between envelope and random sample/hold filtering. The pedal is equipped with a switchable bandpass and lowpass filter, offering a new design closer to the Maestro Filter Sample Hold. The resonance control adds a new dimension to the effect, ranging from subtle to greasy gritty synth tones.

Additionally, the depth control allows for filter modulation range adjustment in both envelope follower and sample hold mode, while the 1-2-4 step multiplier offers one, two, or four steps per beat in sample hold mode.

The pedal's design philosophy focuses on user control, offering a straightforward filter that can be easily understood within seconds. With its combination of analog tone and modern features, the Proteus is suitable for a wide range of musical applications, from funk-inspired envelope filter effects to random sample hold filtering.
