The Subdecay Quantum Quasar is a phaser pedal designed for guitar effects. It features six different wave shapes and offers a wide variety of options under the user's control. The pedal has both analog and digital features, providing pure analog tone with modern functionalities. The Quasar's next evolution includes many new features that are normally found only in fully digital effects, without compromising analog headroom or the organic swirl that digital units can't match.
Modes & Controls:
- Rate: Controls modulation speed.
- Depth: Controls modulation depth.
- Color: Usually controls phaser resonance. In mode 5, it controls a
portamento function.
- Mode: Set to any of the eleven modes, which are categorized as Cross
modulation (X-MOD), Step Sequencing (STEP), Envelope (ENV), and Traditional.
X-MOD:
- Cross modulation involves modulating the effect in two different ways at
the same time.
- Modes 1 & 2: Triangle + Sine and Triangle + Square.
- Mode 3: X-Fade, a cross fade effect.
- Mode 4: Tremolo, synchronized phaser and tremolo.
Step Sequencer:
- These modes create rhythmic phaser/filter patterns rather than traditional
smooth phasing.
Envelope modes:
- Modulation is manipulated by touch dynamics.
Traditional:
- Includes modes such as Rotary/Vibrato, Slow Triangle LFO, and Fast Sine
LFO.
The pedal is powered by an external regulated 9VDC to 18VDC adapter and cannot be powered by a battery. The current draw is less than 25mA, and the input impedance is 1M. The output impedance is not specified.
The Subdecay Quantum Quasar is handmade in the United States and is designed to provide guitarists with a versatile and high-quality phaser effect for their musical performances and recordings.
