Tejas Drive by XAct Tone Solutions

The Tejas Drive by XAct Tone Solutions is a compact overdrive pedal designed to deliver authentic Southern rock overdrive tones. It features a ton of gain on tap, making it suitable for chugging rhythm parts and searing leads. The pedal is housed in a smaller enclosure compared to the "Tejas Overdriver," providing a punch in a small package. It is equipped with simple treble and bass controls, allowing users to dial in the exact tone needed for their rig.

The Tejas Drive incorporates the Tejas boost with overdrive circuitry, offering boost with EQ and an overdrive/distortion in one box. With the gain set low, the Tejas Drive provides a warm increase in volume and chime, working well to bring an amp to new levels of breakup or in conjunction with other pedals like compressors to create new sounds. When the gain is turned up, the pedal offers an uncompressed, musical breakup that can make a crunchy amp really sing. Additionally, maxing out the gain control results in a decidedly unruly distortion sound that ventures into fuzz characteristics.

The tone controls are voiced to be useful across their entire ranges, allowing users to add sparkle, cut some tubby-ness, or modify their tone to their exact preferences. The Tejas Drive combines a classic topology with new XTS circuit modifications, utilizing carefully selected components, including orange drop capacitors, to produce a wide array of warm and musical sounds.
