The micro.clock by Disaster Area Designs is a compact pedalboard clock source and tap tempo controller leveraging advanced SMARTClock technology. Its dimensions are 3.6″ x 1.5″ x 1.6″ (93 x 38 x 42mm). The device features a footswitch for setting the master clock tempo and sending taps to synchronize connected devices. It offers selectable subdivisions for tapping in quarter- notes and setting devices to dotted-eighths, eighth-notes, or triplets. The knob allows for viewing or changing the subdivisions or output settings for each output, with the ability to save settings to a preset by holding the knob. The footswitch can be held down to advance to the next preset, with the option to set the number of accessible presets. Each tempo preset allows specification of BPM or milliseconds, subdivisions, toggle settings for each of the three outputs, and sending a MIDI Program Change to an external MIDI device. The micro.clock also works with devices that accept normally-open or normally-closed footswitches and can send 0-3.3V control voltage for pedals with expression control of delay/tempo.
Key features include a blue LED display showing tempo in Beats Per Minute or milliseconds, two isolated optical relay-powered Tempo Outputs or Function Switch Outputs, a MultiJack connector that can function as Tempo Outputs, Function Switch Outputs, Control Voltage Output (0-3.3V), Footswitch Inputs, or MIDI Outputs, internal DIP switches to customize each output, tap tempo mode with selectable tap subdivisions for each output, support for up to 99 user-accessible presets, and the ability to send tap signals and clock from 30-240 beats per minute. The micro.clock runs on standard 9V power, with a minimum requirement of 60mA. It is compatible with a wide range of pedals and effects units equipped with a remote tap tempo input jack, and its MIDI Clock output synchronizes a connected MIDI device.
The device also supports MIDI Clock output and is compatible with various MIDI devices. The specifications include power requirements of 9V DC, 100mA or less, an LED display, dual status LEDs, a soft-touch footswitch, a USB port, and the ability to control up to three tap tempo devices.
