The Ibanez AD9 Analog Delay pedal, part of the '9' series, was manufactured by Ibanez and Maxon between 1982 and 1984. It was reissued in 2005. The pedal uses the MN3205 'bucket brigade integrated circuit and its companion MN3102 clock drive chip. The delay time range is 10ms to 300ms, and it features controls for Delay Time, Delay Level, and Repeat. The input impedance is 500K ohms, output impedance is less than 1K ohms, and the maximum input level is +6 dBm. The gain is 0 dB (unity). The AD9 Analog Delay uses a compander with pre- and de-emphasis for clean delay, and it allows the artist to adjust the mix between dry and delayed signals. The pedal also permits the number of repeats to be controlled without runaway. Additionally, it has two outputs for separately routing the dry and delayed signals. The pedal is known for its warm, organic, and dynamic echo repeats, and it is considered a professional choice for delay effects.
