Ring Stinger by Lovetone

The Ring Stinger by Lovetone is a rare and sought-after ring modulator/fuzz octave doubler/repeater/dirt box/optical synth. It is based on the original transformer matrix for a distinctive vintage ring mod sound and 60s germanium distortion. The pedal is designed with concepts akin to modular synths, offering numerous sound possibilities.

The Ring Stinger features a ring modulator that combines two inputs (A and B) into one output, transforming them into new sounds not originally heard at the inputs. It can produce atonal and "bell-like" effects commonly associated with ring modulation. The pedal allows various ways of modulating the carrier frequency, including footpedal, light, external control voltage, and a built- in Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO).

The pedal's housing is designed for easy access to the battery compartment and features a warning about sharp circuit board components. It is optimized for instrument level (-20dBm to -15dBm) and can be powered by a 9V or 12V power supply. The VCO output is much higher than instrument level, and it is important to turn down the amp or monitoring volume before calibration.

The Ring Stinger also includes controls for LFO Depth/Manual, LFO Rate, VCO Freq., Drive(I), Timbre, Blend, LFO selector switch, VCO selector switch, and footswitches for LFO/Unlock and Oct./Ring mode selection.
