OOD-9 Organic Overdrive

The Maxon OOD-9 Organic Overdrive is an updated version of Maxon’s first Overdrive, the OD880, originally released in 1977. It is designed to provide low gain, dynamic overdrive similar to a tube amp and can be used as an amp booster. The pedal features NJM (JRC) 4558 Op Amps for a modern tone and regulated 9 VDC power. It offers true bypass switching for smooth, consistent performance.

The OOD-9 utilizes a NJM2374A Voltage converter to stabilize the operating voltage at 9 VDC regardless of the voltage level coming off the battery, providing a smoother, more consistent operation and tonality. The pedal's signal path includes a 2SK246 jFET buffer, NJM4558 Op Amps, and a voltage converter for stable performance.
