The Skreddy Pedals General Pig is a fuzz pedal based on the circa 1976 "rams head" Big Muff Pi. It is designed to produce a Gilmour-like sound in a small package at an affordable price. The pedal offers articulate, cutting, balanced fuzz with great clarity and just the right amount of gain. It features sustain and power while retaining nuance and transparency, making it suitable for various musical styles.
The General Pig has slightly lower gain than the P19, allowing for less filtering and a clearer tone, and making it compatible with humbucker-equipped guitars without requiring volume adjustment. It is designed to fit high-gain needs and respond to playing dynamics, providing plenty of sustain while retaining string articulation and allowing the player's technique and guitar tone to shine through.
In terms of power requirements, the pedal operates on regular 9V negative ground and accepts the industry-standard 9V DC plug (5.5mm barrel x 2.1mm center coax), with a negative tip. It can be powered using an AC adapter, and it is recommended to use a quality, regulated, filtered power supply. The pedal does not have any special power requirements and does not include a 9V battery. If a battery is used, it is advised to unplug the input cable from the pedal's input jack when not in use to prevent draining.
