The Quasar DLX by Subdecay is a comprehensive analog phaser with several notable features and functionalities. It is an analog 4-stage OTA-based phaser with digital control, offering eleven LFO shapes, including sine, triangle, random sample/hold, and even an argyle waveform.
The Quasar DLX provides multiple ways to control the LFO speed, including tap tempo, manual control with the DUAL ACTION SPEED KNOB, and expression pedal modulation. The modulation speed ranges from a 45-second sweep up to nearly 300Hz, allowing for a wide range of phasing effects.
Additionally, the color knob on the Quasar DLX intensifies the phasing, with the ability to sound similar to an early 80s Roland-style low-pass filter when turned fully to the right. It also includes a volume knob to manage the output volume, particularly useful when the color knob has a dramatic effect on the output.
The pedal can be powered by a dedicated Class II regulated 9 to 18-volt DC power supply with a negative center 2.1mm barrel type plug.
Overall, the Quasar DLX is designed to offer a versatile and customizable phasing experience, making it suitable for a wide range of musical styles and applications.
