The Walrus Audio Mako Series R1 High-Fidelity Stereo Reverb is an extremely powerful and versatile multi-function reverb pedal with six customized, studio-quality programs. The pedal's enclosure measures 4.9” x 2.52” x 2.64” with knobs, and it requires a 9VDC power supply with a minimum of 300mA. The R1 offers the following features and functionalities:
Programs:
1. Spring: Emulates an excited spring reverb commonly found in tube amps with
the option to add warm overdrive to the reverb input.
2. Hall: Provides the acoustics of large live sound spaces like concert halls
to arenas, with control over the room size.
3. Plate: Emulates a smooth analog plate reverb with even diffusion and the
option to add warm grit to the front end of the program.
4. BFR (Big, F____, Reverb): Offers a rich and lush decay in a vast cavern
filled with choirs of angels, with control over the amount of diffusion
applied to the delay network.
5. RFRCT (Refract): Allows for glitch-like textures hovering over a largely
diffused reverb, with control over glitch effects and tone.
6. Air: Offers a larger diffused reverb with a subtle shimmer and crisp
clarity to its decay, with control over the amount of wind and shimmer
elements.
Additional Controls and Features:
- Decay knob: Sets the length of the reverb decay.
- Swell knob: Engages a volume envelope applied to the wet and dry guitar
signal, creating a gentle volume swell.
- Mix knob: Sets the ratio of dry to wet signal.
- Tweak knob and switch: Offers creative control over mod Rate, mod Depth, or
Pre-delay for each reverb program.
- Tune knob and switch: Offers creative control over Lo, High, or X for
further shaping of each reverb program.
- Stereo width control: Useful for dialing in the desired stereo image width,
saved per preset.
- A|B|C Bank Switch: Offers three banks for storing presets, with a total of
nine accessible without using MIDI.
- Bypass modes: True Bypass, DSP+True Bypass, and DSP Bypass.
- Momentary functions: Sustain and latch the current reverb sound, and
continue to play over it through the same reverb algorithm.
The R1 also includes MIDI control, up to 128 accessible presets via MIDI, and the ability to seamlessly switch presets with true preset spill over. It offers multiple input and output configurations, including mono in/mono out, mono in/dual mono out, and stereo in/stereo out.
