The Boost 'n' Buff features a switchable buffer, allowing users to choose between the buffer or true bypass, providing flexibility in signal routing. In 'Buff' mode, it acts as an ultra-high input impedance/low noise buffer, maintaining the natural bandwidth of guitar pickups and reducing signal degradation over long cable runs. The pedal also offers three boost modes: Full Boost, Treble Boost, and Mid Boost, each tailored to different tonal enhancements.

Additionally, the pedal includes a gain control for achieving mild dirt sounds, a volume control for up to 35dB output, and a crackle feature when adjusting the gain pot. It is also designed for easy use in FX loops, providing a secondary volume control with ample headroom.

The Boost 'n' Buff v.5 is powered by 9V only and should not be operated at higher voltages. The pedal's internal circuitry is designed to provide approximately 24V from a 9V power source, eliminating the need for dual batteries or additional power supplies.
