The Orange Getaway Driver is an overdrive pedal designed to deliver a vintage amp-in-a-box experience with a simple three-dial control interface. The pedal features Volume, Bite (tone), and Gain controls, allowing users to achieve a range of tones from a cranked AC-30 to a creamy blues-rock experience. The Bite knob acts as a tone control, focusing on high frequencies while leaving the lows relatively untouched. Additionally, an internal switch is available to roll off frequencies above 20kHz.
The pedal is equipped with a buffered headphone output with cab simulation, enabling quiet practice, direct connection to an interface, or connection to a PA system via a DI box. It operates on a standard 9-volt power supply to emulate EL84 valves or 12-volt for the EL34 flavor. The Getaway Driver is designed with Class A circuitry to deliver rich harmonic content while remaining responsive to the player's dynamics.
